Question: I have signed up for the Permanent Absentee List, do I still need to fill out this application?

Answer: Being on the Permanent Absentee List means you will automatically be sent an application to sign and return to request an absentee ballot. You still need to complete the application and return to the Clerk’s Office for ballot processing.

Question: How do I obtain an absentee ballot?

Answer:
 Complete an absentee application. The application can be found on the Township’s website or call 248-348-5825 to request an application be mailed to you.

Question: What are the ways to return an absentee application?

Answer: 
  • Postal Mail
  • Township 24/7 Drop Box located in the Drive Thru loop at Township Hall
  • Hand deliver to the Blue Box located in the lobby of Township Hall
  • Scan and Email to Clerk@twp.northvill.mi.us

Do you open all the absentee ballots?

Answer: Yes! Every single absentee ballot is opened and tabulated on Election Day.

Question:
Do you have weekend hours before the election?

Answer: Yes, we are open the Saturday prior to each election. Check the Clerk’s page for additional evening and weekend hours.

Question:
I have a Power of Attorney for a family member, can I sign for them?

Answer: No, a voter must sign or make their mark on the application and the outside envelope of the absentee ballot.
