Barricade Situation Resolved in Northville Twp

Barricade Situation Resolved in Northville TwpA 52 year old male Monroe, Michigan resident was arrested early Friday morning after stabbing a woman and barricading himself inside a residence. The male is currently in custody at the Northville Township Police Department. 

The incident began on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 9:50 pm when Northville 
Township Police Officers were called to a residence on Northridge Dr. for a domestic incident. Upon arrival officers encountered a male and female outside the residence. The female had visible injuries and the male suspect retreated inside the residence and refused to come out. Officers had reason to believe the suspect was armed. The extent of the injuries to the female is not known. 
Initial attempts to get the suspect to come out of the residence were unsuccessful.  The Michigan State Police Emergency Services Unit was requested and responded to the scene with additional personal including crisis negotiators.  

Just after 3:00 am the suspect surrendered to police officers. He was taken into custody without incident. No shots were fired during the event.  A comprehensive follow up investigation is ongoing at this time.

The facts, evidence and circumstances of this investigation will be sent to the Wayne County Prosecutors Office where a determination of charges will be made.
